New Story Idea

Recently, I have began to write this short story. I am attempting to build a plot around it and possible turn it into a novel. What do you think? Do you like it so far? Remember, it is currently a work in progress. Read on and enjoy. ;)

Honestly, he is like no one I have ever met before. His charming personality took me by surprise and I’ve never felt so comfortable around anyone like that before. Normally, I am a very shy person, but when I was talking with him, it felt like we could have gone on for hours.
I met him in the oddest of circumstances. During school one day, at around lunchtime, there was a lockdown. Knowing me and my terrible luck, I was walking towards the office with no one around me. Surprisingly, a couple of yards away, there was a staff room. I hoped it was unlocked. I ran over to the door, and to my surprise, it opened. Unknown to me at the time, there was there was someone else in the room. Well, he was actually in the back space closet. To keep myself hidden from outside, I quickly crouched down below the window sill. In doing this so quickly, I forgot to turn off the lights off.
There was a rustling in the corner closet. I crawled over to the cabinets on the wall. When I was hidden, someone came out of the closet.
“Hello?” The figure walked out the door way and questioned the empty room.
I could tell he was no harm, so I crawled out of my hiding place and answered, “Hi.”
“Oh,” a surprised look formed on his face, “are you a teacher here?”
I felt like my voice was jammed in m throat, like it was trapped and it couldn’t break free. Something about him made it hard for me to speak, “Uhhh…yeah. Are you?”
His voice made me tremble “Yeah. I teach Language Arts.” He walked over to the table and pulled out a chair. “What do you teach?”
I got up and walked over to the chair opposite of him and sat down. “I teach Social Studies.” I began to feel more comfortable with him, and continued talking, “Are you new here? I’ve never seen you before.”
“Yes, I just transferred here this year. So, you teach Social Studies, what grade level?”
“I teach AP US History and AP European History. What grade levels do you teach?”
“I teach AP Language.” As he spoke I stared deeply into his deep, ocean blue eyes.
